Su studied Art and 3-D Design at Salford's Adelphi Arts Centre (now assimilated into the University of Salford), followed by a year focusing on metalwork and jewellery design.
After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a B.A. (hons) in History of Art, Design and Film, she specialised in film production and furthered her studies at The National School of Film and Television. Su then went on to work as editorial assistant in the film industry for directors including Michael Winterbottom (Welcome to Sarajevo,) and Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow).
Following some time out to have children, Su returned to her creative practice full time, developing her technique and adding new skills to her repertoire. In addition to private commissions and project work, Su gained a Masters Degree, spent four years teaching art and creative writing, and continues to work in Higher Education as studio support for art students with disabilities.

A leak had allowed water to drip through the roof timbers, leaching tannins and causing dark textured streaking and staining.
This was first removed and then the stoneblock effect painted back in to match seamlessly with the surrounding paint effect.
The work was carried out quickly and discreetly on behalf of The Invisible Painter ahead of the US president's visit.
